How to keep squirrels out of my garden

There are quite a number of methods that you can use to keep squirrels out of your garden. However, you must begin by understanding the signs of squirrel activity before deciding on which technique. To begin with, the most common signs of squirrel activity include but are not limited to: partially eaten flowers, container digging, missing plants, and of course nibbled seed heads.

The others are: bite marks on fruits and shallow digging in almost all plant beds. If you observe these signs, then it’s high time that you find the best solution possible to scare or deter the rodents in one way or another. Wild animals cannot be kept as pets. This is what our common sense tells us. However, if we think, anyone of us sees a wild animal in our premises, what should we do? Do we let them live in the property region or will try to get them out? Off course, the second option is preferable by all of us. The first and probably the most important thing you should do is remove all that is attractive to these rodents. For instance, the smell of fallen fruits and seeds is a magnet to these animals and so removing them will always help you a great deal. Always ensure the garden is cleaned and such things as seeds and fruits are thrown in a trash can that has a secure lid. You can also repel them in one way or another by using products that contain peppermint, vinegar, or anything in this range. If you do so, then definitely squirrels will avoid your garden like the plague.

There are other easy-to-implement techniques that you can use to keep squirrels out of the garden at any given time. As a matter of fact, you can actually scare them away if you have a dog or cat. A well trained dog will always make it pretty difficult for squirrels to hang around your garden. If not, you can purchase predator pee (tiger or wolf preferably) and the scent will make the squirrels think twice prior to visiting your garden. Last but not least, you can distract the squirrels by setting up a squirrel delicacy in designated areas, and this will definitely lead them away.

It is important to note that you can actually use two or three of the above mentioned methods to keep the squirrels away. It all depends on the variable factors like the extent of the problem and money you are willing to spend at that particular time. Overall, implementing the discussed methods to the letter will always be quite beneficial.
